Principle of Selection
The following factors shall be taken into consideration of the
selection of rubber hose or hose assembly.
Working Environment
1) Ambient temperature: the high ambient temperature will quicken
the aging of rubber hose, while the extreme low temperature may
reduce the elasticity of hose and make it hard.
2) Atmospheric conditions: either indoor or outdoor, the
high-concentration ozone on the outdoor environment and ultraviolet
radiation in the sunlight will accelerate the aging of hose.
3) The contact with attacking media, including oil, benzene, strong
acid and alkaline or other corrosive chemicals.
Conveyance Medium
1) Category of hose conveyance medium (gas, liquid, solid or
mixture of them), solid media are more apt to wear hose than gas
and liquid.
2) Name of conveyance fluid: the fluid of different property will
be conveyed by the hose if different material, different color of
hose and safe pressure coefficient, there are many types of gases,
e.g. Air, oxygen, carton dioxide combustible gases, e.g. Acetylene
gas, LPG, and methane gas etc. , and liquids: water, acid-base,
oil, refrigeration agent and special chemicals, some of theme can
be used together, but others should be distinguished while using.
3) Means of fluid conveyance, parameters of pressure (withstanding
positive pressure) and flow rate, and cohesion (withstanding
negative pressure) and flow rate.
4) Working temperature and pressure parameters of conveyance fluid.
